SACCO Loan Management System for Kenyan SACCOs
Lendpoint is a cloud-based SACCO loan management system for Kenyan SACCOs. It runs the whole credit side of your SACCO in one place. You define loan products and check guarantors and limits. You approve, disburse to M-Pesa, collect repayments and follow up arrears, with every step recorded in an audit trail your board and auditors can rely on.
It is built for SACCOs that have outgrown loan forms, Excel sheets and manual M-Pesa reconciliation, but don't want a six-figure core banking project to fix that.
Why SACCOs move their loan book to a dedicated system
In most SACCOs the loan process is where time and money leak away:
- Slow approvals. A loan form travels between the loans officer, credit committee and treasurer. Members wait days for money they need this week.
- Manual reconciliation. Repayments land in the Paybill and someone matches each one to a member by hand, usually at month end.
- Arrears found too late. When the ledger is a spreadsheet, nobody sees an installment slip until it is already a problem loan.
- Weak audit trail. When a figure changes, it is hard to show who changed it, when and why. Auditors and SASRA inspectors notice.
A SACCO loan management system replaces each of these manual steps with a recorded workflow.
What Lendpoint does for your SACCO
Loan products your way
Set up as many loan products as you offer, such as development, emergency, school fees or asset loans. Each product has its own interest rate (flat or reducing balance), term, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly installments, minimum and maximum amounts, and processing and legal fees. Fees can be deducted at disbursement or collected with repayments.
Guarantors, collateral and loan limits
Record guarantors and collateral against each loan. Every member has a credit score and a loan limit, and each product sets the minimum score required, so members can only borrow what your policy allows.
Approvals with a full audit trail
Applications move through review and approval in the system. Staff roles control who can approve, and on the Professional plan approvals can be restricted per branch. Every action is written to the loan's audit log, including approval, disbursement, rescheduling, penalties and rollovers.
M-Pesa disbursement and automatic repayment matching
Approved loans can be sent straight to the member's M-Pesa. Repayments through your Paybill are matched to the right loan automatically, and you can send an STK push so members pay the exact installment with their PIN. See how the M-Pesa integration works.
Arrears and penalties handled consistently
Members get SMS reminders before and on the due date. Overdue installments are flagged automatically, and penalties are applied according to the policy you configure, so every member is treated the same way. Our guide to grace periods, penalties and rollovers explains how to design that policy.
USSD, portal and mobile app for members
Not every member has a smartphone. Over USSD, members can check their limit, apply for a loan, repay and get a mini-statement from any phone. Members who prefer the web or an app get a branded self-service portal with their loans and statements.
Accounting behind every shilling
Every disbursement, repayment, fee and penalty posts to a general ledger with the balance before and after. Expense tracking and accounting reports come with every plan. The Professional plan adds a chart of accounts, an itemised profit and loss statement, and Excel and PDF exports for your accountant.

What Lendpoint is not
We would rather you choose the right system than the wrong one. Lendpoint focuses on lending. It does not run member savings (BOSA/FOSA deposits), share capital or dividends. If you need those today, ChamaPoint covers them for chamas and investment groups, and SaccoPoint, our full SACCO system, is coming soon. Many SACCOs run Lendpoint for their loan book alongside their existing savings system.
SACCO regulation and your loan system
Deposit-taking SACCOs, and the larger non-withdrawable deposit-taking SACCOs, are supervised by the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) under the Sacco Societies Act, 2008. Smaller SACCOs fall under the Commissioner for Co-operative Development. No regulator certifies loan software. What matters is that your system gives you accurate, traceable records:
- an audit log of every loan action and who performed it,
- role-based access so staff only see and do what their job requires,
- a ledger that reconciles to your M-Pesa and bank statements,
- exportable reports for statutory returns and your external auditor.
Member data is also personal data under the Data Protection Act, 2019. Each Lendpoint client's data lives in its own isolated database schema, and staff access is controlled by role.

Frequently asked questions
What is a SACCO loan management system?
It is software that runs the credit side of a SACCO: setting up loan products, taking applications, checking guarantors and limits, approving and disbursing loans, generating repayment schedules, receiving repayments and following up arrears. It replaces paper loan forms, Excel ledgers and manual M-Pesa reconciliation with one system and one audit trail.
Does Lendpoint handle SACCO savings, shares and dividends?
No. Lendpoint focuses on lending. Savings, share capital and dividends are covered by our sister products: ChamaPoint for chamas and investment groups today, and SaccoPoint for full SACCO operations, which is coming soon. Many SACCOs use Lendpoint to run their loan book alongside their existing savings system.
Can members apply for loans without a smartphone?
Yes. Members can register, check their loan limit, apply for a loan, repay and get a mini-statement over USSD on any phone. Members with smartphones can also use the branded self-service portal and mobile app.
Does Lendpoint support guarantors and collateral?
Yes. You can record guarantors and collateral against a member and their loan, and use credit scores and loan limits to control how much each member can borrow under each product.
Is Lendpoint SASRA compliant?
SASRA regulates SACCOs, not software, so no system is "SASRA approved". What Lendpoint gives you is what a regulated SACCO needs from its loan system: a complete audit log of every loan action, role-based staff access, a general ledger behind every money movement, and exportable reports for your returns and auditors.
How much does a SACCO loan management system cost in Kenya?
Lendpoint costs KES 5,000 per month on the Starter plan and KES 8,000 per month on the Professional plan (multi-branch), or about 17% less when paid yearly. A one-time KES 10,000 onboarding and migration fee applies. Enterprise pricing is quoted on request.
Can we migrate our existing loans from Excel or another system?
Yes. Members can be bulk-uploaded, and our onboarding team helps migrate active loans and balances as part of the onboarding and migration package.
How long does it take to get started?
You can open a 7-day free trial immediately with no credit card. Most SACCOs configure their loan products and go live within a couple of weeks, depending on how much historical data is migrated and how quickly M-Pesa Paybill access is set up.
